Why pod n beyond

A format born in Osaka, forty-odd years ago

The capsule hotel was first conceived in Japan: a large number of very small rooms, offering cheap, well-made overnight accommodation for guests who don’t need everything a conventional hotel bundles in. Here’s how it reached Jamshedpur.
